Part 1 of 2 This is the first 8 week section of a 2 part course. Are you looking for a way to inspire your student to make a positive impact in their community? Our Starting a Non-Profit course is the perfect way to get started! Taught by an experienced entrepreneur and teacher, your student will learn how to identify a cause, create a mission statement, build a team, fundraise, and establish a non-profit organization. The course is flexible and can be completed at a time that is fun for your learner. With pre-recorded videos and homework assignments, your student will gain knowledge in financial management, marketing, and leadership skills. Each week, your student will complete a project related to the topic covered in the video, and receive individualized feedback to improve their work. No prior experience is required, and our instructor has over 20 years of teaching experience across a variety of topics. So join us for weeks of inspiration, learning, and fun. Let's make a difference together! In this class, the student will learn how to start a non-profit organization. The class will be divided into the following weeks and topics: Week 1: Identifying a Cause Week 2: Creating a Mission Statement Week 3: Building a Team Week 4: Fundraising Week 5: Financial Management Week 6: Marketing Week 7: Leadership Skills Week 8: Legal Requirements By the end of the class, your student will have the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in their community by starting a non-profit organization. The flexible schedule (Recorded Flex Class) allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a convenient time to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson weekly (depending on which day you started). The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week, as part of a project. After watching each video and completing the homework assignments, students will be provided with feedback and the specific next steps on how to improve or adapt. The time frame for the Week: Mondays - The teacher will post the information needed for the week. Students can submit questions. Tuesdays - Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the discussion. Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom for teacher feedback and discussion. Students will discuss it among themselves. Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students. Saturday - Sunday - The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week. Please note: This course requires no prior experience. *For parents/families who feel their child would benefit from this course, but whose budget does not allow for it, I do offer a number of discounts for families of lower income.
