In this 6 week flexible schedule class (with 12 recorded lessons) students will manipulate numbers within 10 by counting, composing, decomposing, adding, and subtracting using Montessori tools.
Class experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Students will delve deeply into number sense in a hands-on way using physical or printable Montessori manipulatives, creating a firm mathematical foundation for numbers 1-10. Students who understand math learn to love math, and I want my students to experience math in a hands-on way where they know they can try new things, make mistakes, and learn from them. Each week contains two student lessons, followed by games for the learners to practice what is introduced with a math grown up helper....
Students will work extensively with numbers 1-10 and learn to add and subtract using Montessori and hands-on manipulatives.
I have been teaching Montessori-inspired math classes for 2 years. I am a certified elementary teacher with two education degrees and was a National Board certified teacher. I have taught in public school, a homeschool hybrid school, and currently homeschool my two children, while also teaching on Outschool.
