Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
This is a flex class. This is not a live class. The content will drop twice a week for two weeks. Content, which includes a video lesson and assignments, will drop on Mondays and Thursdays. Check out this intro video that students will see at the beginning of their first class. https://youtu.be/sz60TfSAr6M

This is a super fun course that will teach the basic parts of speech including nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. This is for younger children as an introduction to grammar or it can be for slightly older (no more than 10) that would just like a review. Students will be introduced to these parts of speech with animations, songs, videos, and a mission that is given them in each video. This is quickly becoming a popular Flex course and is not the exact same as the live classes like this that I teach. I have made these to be special for Flex. I will also include in the classroom message center links to youtube videos that will reinforce what they are learning. These videos would be perfect to watch before the class begins. This is not a live course but if you send me a message with any questions or just to show me their completed assignments for me to evaluate, I will gladly respond within a few hours.

**A Note on How I Teach a Flexible Schedule class:
-In a flexible schedule class, there are class video lessons, discussion boards where students will be encouraged to contribute, video links to view based on the topic, and activities, posted weekly where students interact with each other within the Outschool classroom. All material will be posted within the platform.
-Students can post videos, copies of their work and or photos and respond to each other. Each class will vary in size and therefore each lesson and or discussion may vary in the amount of interaction. Students can respond to the discussions at different times. Outschool has learners from all over the world and each learner has a different schedule.
-As the teacher, I will respond sometimes by video so that students can hear and see me. Mainly, I will respond by a typed answer. I also will respond to every student within 24 hours of their posting. I will evaluate and share my thoughts about the completed assignments.

I am the founder and teacher of Treasure Quest Learning Adventures where every class is a treasure-filled learning adventure. I have taught English Grammar for many years as an elementary school teacher. I love grammar but even more, I love to use the world as my classroom. So when I put the two together the students get an exciting class where they will enjoy learning. I love connecting other places in the world to basic mundane learning objectives so that students will find the joy in learning. Many times, I will also include creative writing assignments to go along with my classes. I enjoy creating classes that involve more than just learning the main objective. I enjoy outside the box teaching and learning where children will learn about interesting topics while learning the main objective. I like to sneak the grammar and writing into all the exciting things so they learn it without even realizing they are actually learning. When children learn this way, they will love to learn. Your child will not forget the learning treasures they have stored in their "treasure chest." I will teach them that their brain is the treasure chest and the wonderful "jewels" we learn will be safely kept in their "treasure chests." I love what I do and my enthusiasm for learning is contagious. Your child will love it too.
