Class Experience

These Ukulele lessons with a flexible schedule are great for families with tight schedules. During these classes we will start with the basics of the history of the Ukulele, the parts of the ukulele, stings names, the 4 basic chords C, A minor, F, and G, and most importantly learning how fun it is to strum and play the instrument. This is an introductory class for younger students and no prior experience is required.

Week 1 - Students will learn the history of the Ukulele and basic parts of the ukulele. We will learn the names of the strings and how to strum the ukulele.
Week 2 - Students will review the prior content and learn the chord C and practice strumming that chord. Learn Row Row Row Your Boat! We will take a look at the G chord and practice using it.
Week 3 - Students will review the prior content and learn the chord F and practice strumming that chord and transitioning between C. Learn You are my Sunshine in class. Students will learn about different strumming techniques and find one that feels the most comfortable.
Week 4 - Students will review the prior content and learn the A minor chord and practice strumming and transitioning between C, G, and F . Students will learn Happy Birthday and get to play one of the songs we have learned if they like. We will learn Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

This class will allow students to learn and explore the instrument on their level. There is no live classes and each week there will be a recorded video where students can watch and play along with the teacher. There will be activities and music for kids to use and print out in the classroom page. This will allow students to practice and print out all materials. Students will have access to all the content I teach in the video lesson throughout the course. Students will be able to learn at their own pace and at times that are convenient. They will be able to ask questions and interact with their peers from the class. Students can ask direct questions to the teacher in order to get extra help or anything that they would need when practicing their skills. I will include short videos through out the class to challenge students if they are ready to practice harder materials. Students will be required to send in videos of their practicing the skills learned for each week by playing the chords and songs for that week. This will give the teacher the opportunity to help each child.
Learning Goals
By the end of this class, students will have the knowledge they need to play songs using the different chords and techniques. Students will have learned techniques on their level since each class is differentiated for each class.
