**PLEASE NOTE** This is a SELF-PACED class and is PRE-RECORDED. THIS MEANS STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE PRE-RECORDED VIDEO. There are no live meetings. All interactions between students and the teacher will happen on the class page. This class will be presented via powerpoint. Week 1Lesson 1Why Leaves Turn Color in Fall; Tracing/Drawing LeavesWe will discuss the colors that leaves turn in the fall, and why. Students will draw or trace leaves in an overlapping design, using crayons in fall leaf colors.Week 2Lesson 2Painting the Leaf DrawingWe will review the science discussed in the first class, practice wet-in-wet technique, and paint the leaves that were previously drawn.
As a veteran art teacher, I have successfully developed methods for helping children break down seemingly complicated drawing tasks into simple steps for successful drawing.
Students will need: pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener paper for practice (printer paper works well) heavy paper, such as Bristol Board or watercolor paper, 9X12 or 11X14 Crayola crayons (NOT washable!) watercolors (Crayola or Prang are best) a template for leaves will be provided for printing just prior to the first class. This is optional for drawing.
