[Flex Class] Me Gusta...: Likes and Dislikes in Spanish for Beginners

Want to:
- Give your learner valuable exposure to introductory Spanish sounds, phrases, and songs on your own schedule?
- Reduce "Zoom fatigue" through multiple modes of learning on and offline: educational videos, audio, writing, movement, flashcards, and coloring pages?
- Help "hook" your learner to the magic of Spanish in an engaging and comfortable format (especially ideal for shy learners, students apprehensive to speak in live classes, etc.)?

In this flex class, your learner will learn simple words and short sentences in Spanish about expressing their likes and dislikes!

NOTE: This class has NO live meetings and follows a "flexible schedule format", allowing learners to work at any time during each designated week and for the duration of the course. The teacher can always be reached through the Outschool classroom and through messaging on Outschool if a learner needs specific help. 

This flex class is best suited for learners with minimal Spanish knowledge OR for learners who could benefit from a review of the content below. As the content is standardized, please message me if you are unsure if this class is best suited for your learner’s level. 

The course content is as follows:

Week 1: "I like... / I don't like..." with fruit vocabulary, "What do you like?"
Week 2: "I want.../ I don't want...'." with animal vocabulary, "What do you want?"      
              - Week 1 and 2 enrichment: extra vocabulary
Week 3: "My favorite color is _____." with color vocabulary, "What is your favorite color?"
Week 4: Review and project

Each week, you’ll receive: 
1. 2-3 videos: an educational video of me teaching the words and the lesson song (with props and digital effects) that allows students to repeat and one of me singing the main Spanish song
2. Printable Flashcards: While learners should act out the movements they see on screen while the songs are playing, the flashcards can be used to help them review and practice at home!
3. 2 Coloring Pages/Worksheets: Learners can listen to the lesson video/song and practice repeating and singing while they complete the worksheets
4. A "cheat sheet" of all the week's content in a virtual "classroom"
5. *NEW* a Boom card set - fun digital cards that let you listen to audio, select the correct picture, and are self-checking!

Student interaction: Every week, learners will create a short audio or video of themselves saying the vocabulary words or singing the Spanish song (whichever they feel more comfortable with) and share it with other learners. Learners will be expected to watch the videos that classmates post and post a friendly comment on a fellow learner's video with parent assistance. I will also leave feedback on each video that is posted and assist with pronunciation as needed.

NOTE: Class materials are not full immersion and there will be some English used as needed. Almost all of the flashcards will be represented with pictures without text rather than direct translation, but the videos and classroom discussion will include some translation. The "cheat sheet" for each week contains translations for all of the content so that parents do not have to take notes!

In addition, I will use picture uploads and other prompts for learners to interact with the content and respond to each other for further student-to-student interaction.
