Class Experience

This is a flexible schedule class, which means that there are NO live meetings, so students are able to take the course at their convenience. Each week, I will present my video tutorial in the Outschool classroom. Students will be required to share their completed projects with the class during the week by uploading a picture or video to our classroom on Outschool so that your fellow students and I can discuss and admire your work! Students will also be required to complete various quizzes and worksheet assignments given.

After watching instructional videos each week students will have a quiz given to them and a variety of assignment to demonstrate their understanding of the material. This includes recordings of the student completing particular skills and pictures of completed sewing projects. Students will also be expected to participate in a weekly discussion about that week's material and their personal experience creating the project.

Because this is a flex class there are no live meetings; however I am always available to answer your questions at any time during the 8 weeks of class. I will also be posting various tips and tricks, suggestions, and encouragement in the classroom throughout the course.

Course Schedule:
Week 1 = Students will learn basic sewing machine anatomy, how to thread a machine, and wind a bobbin. Students will be required to upload a video of themselves threading their machine and winding the bobbin. Students will be given a quiz to assess their understanding of the material.

Week 4 = Students will learn and practice cutting and will use their self drafted patterns to cut out two skirt designs, a tank, and a dress on their chosen fabric. Students will be required to upload a picture of their patterns cut out on fabric, and share their feelings about prepping them.
