Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this self paced class we will learn about some crazy, interesting stories of events that happened either during or around some of the wars that the United States has been involved in. I will provide engaging video lectures for each lesson. The lectures will engage the learners by the telling the stories by a passionate teacher using pictures, audio recordings and videos. Each video lecture will be about 30 to 40 minutes long and cover one event. Going along with the lectures, there will be additional resources provided in the form of optional video projects in the format of the students choosing, crossword puzzles and reading material, which will be posted in the classroom throughout along with discussion questions. Class projects can be turned in either in the classroom or via private message. Lesson 1: Howland Island as part of WWII Lesson 2: Ghost Army of WWII Lesson 3: The Ice Ship of WWII Lesson 4: Tomb of the Unknown as part of the Vietnam War Lesson 5: Walking Blood Bank of the Cold War Throughout the class students will gain an understanding of the greatness that can come from people and of the real sacrifice that comes in war.

Lesson 2:
Ghost Army of WWII
During World War II, the United States employed a clever tactic known as the "Ghost Army" to deceive the enemy about the presence and movements of American troops. The Ghost Army was a specialized unit comprised of artists, designers, engineers, and other creative individuals who utilized a combination of theatrical techniques, camouflage, and misinformation to create the illusion of a larger military force than actually existed.

The Ice Ship of WWII
How can we travel across an icy ocean? With a ship made out of ice, of course. Learn how Canada helped the allies develop of innovative technologies and vessels designed to navigate icy waters effectively.
Lesson 4:
Tomb of the Unknown as part of the Vietnam War
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery is a monument dedicated to the memory of unidentified American soldiers who have died in combat. The tradition of honoring unknown soldiers dates back to World War I, but the origins of the Tomb of the Unknowns specifically trace back to the aftermath of World War I and the desire to memorialize those whose remains could not be identified. Let's learn what makes the US Tomb of the Unknown unique.

Parental Guidance
In this class, aspects of war will be presented. Therefor, there will be discussion of death, including suicide, and destruction. We will not delve deeply into these aspects, but these types of things will be mentioned.
