Intermediate Level
This course is taught by a native speaker and German university professor. It is based on one of the most advanced university level curricula in the country and incorporates fundamentals in learning German language, vocabulary, grammar and culture. This is a flexible schedule course that will allow your learner to work on his/her own time while receiving extensive feedback from me. This is a limited class size course with extensive instructor feedback. Students who take this semester long course will learn advanced vocabulary, grammar and culture and gain advanced practice and confidence in verbal communication through presentations and much interaction with fellow students and instructor. I am a native German professor and will utilize a partial immersion model which is the most natural way of learning language and culture. LESSONS 1-4 LESSON 1: Review of Flex German 101 LESSON 2: Descriptive Adjectives/ A German Family LESSON 3: Adjective Agreement/Modal Verbs LESSON 4: Prepositions with the Accusative The Brandenburger Tor/ History of Berlin / German Reunification LESSONS 5-10 LESSON 5: The Imperative /In the Restaurant /Adverbs LESSON 6: The Modal Moegen/Vienna Coffeehouses (Wiener Kafeehaeuser) LESSON 7: Separable and Inseparable Prefix Verbs LESSON 8: The Perfect Tense (Part 1) LESSON 9: The Perfect Tense (Part 2) LESSON 10: Accusative Pronouns / Final presentations in German
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of German language (written, spoken and comprehension) and culture. This course is the next course following German 101 FLEX. Contact me to determine if your student is able to take this class if they have not taken the first course with.
