As this is a FLEX course students will work on their paintings throughout the week on their own time. Each week's painting should take about an hour, but students are always welcome to spend more time on their painting if they would like.Class Experience
This class is the FLEX version of my Multi-Day Acrylic Summer Set: Create 4 Easy Art Acrylic Paintings! (Ages 7-12) This is a flexible schedule class with NO LIVE MEETINGS. I will be using weekly video instructions to walk students through the steps to create 4 acrylic beach-themed paintings! Each student will be able to watch the video instructions on their own schedule. Students will be provided videos, instructions, and a homework assignment on MONDAY of the scheduled week. Students will have the opportunity to submit a picture of their artwork in the classroom if they would like feedback from the teacher. Each week we will complete a new piece of art independent of the previous week's painting. No painting experience is required! I will walk you through all the steps to create your own masterpiece. Acrylic paints, brushes, and a canvas will be needed for this class. Please see the supply list for all the details. Weekly Engagement - 1 video each week explaining that week's painting - Weekly feedback from the class and teacher through the classroom or private message - All videos, and messages will be done through the Outschool classroom. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ CLASS OUTLINE For homework students should plan to spend 1 hour a week working on their painting, using their instruction videos and class discussion. Learner progress will be evaluated through in-progress photos of their work posted to the classroom if they would like feedback from the teacher. The teacher will provide individual feedback and guidance for each student. Students are encouraged to interact with more than just the teacher and can provide constructive feedback in the classroom to their classmates throughout the course if they wish. Week 1: Sailboat Art We will be completing a little sailboat painting and learning about impressionistic painting styles. Week 2: Sandy Beach We will paint a cute beach painting and continue that impressionistic style. Week 3: Palm Tree We will learn how to paint a palm tree. For this class, students can choose their own background colors! Learning Goals
My mission for all of my classes is that every learner has the opportunity to be creative. I believe creativity is so important, and I want to give students the chance to express themselves in a safe and comfortable environment. The goal is for each student in this particular class to learn about acrylic techniques and brushes to gain the confidence to create their own amazing artwork at home.

Parental Guidance
Acrylic paints can be hard to get off of furniture and out of clothing. Please make sure students have a space to work that is ok to get a bit messy. I recommend wearing old clothes that you won't mind if they get a little paint on them. Acrylic does come off of hair and skin with just a little soap and water.
The prerecorded lessons will be shared as Youtube videos integrated into the Outschool platform, no Youtube login is needed.
Supply List
Learners will need a couple of supplies for painting. If you already have some supplies feel free to use what you have! You WILL need paints, brushes, and something to paint on to complete this class. A set of paints is nice to have but not required. A set with larger tubes is great if you are doing multiple classes. I use white, black, blue, red, yellow, green, and brown paints to complete my artwork. I will be sending out a message in the classroom with specific colors used for each class. On most class days learners will have the option to choose their own colors. A set of brushes is also a great idea to experiment and learn about different brush sizes and shapes! The brush set linked, is my favorite sizes and shapes. You might already have some at home! Canvas, Canvas Board, or Canvas Paper. I will be using a 12x16in canvas, but anything around that size works great!
