Class Experience

US Grade 2
This class will cover part two of four of a full year of second grade reading, writing, and math curriculum based common core standards. I am an experienced teacher with 9 years teaching experience. Over the past 6 years I have taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade at my local public school, teaching all subject areas (reading, writing, math, phonics, science and social studies). I am excited to learn with your learner this school year!
Each subject taught (reading, writing, math) will include a recorded video of me teaching a mini-lesson followed by independent practice. The mini lesson will include the new teaching point, which the teacher will demonstrate using interactive slides and/or Jamboard. Math instruction will include a worksheet that will be provided by the teacher.

Learner Engagement:
Learners will receive weekly videos of me teaching the concepts of the week. There will be worksheets and materials provided to practice the concepts taught. Learners will send me a picture or video of their completed work for feedback. Learners may use Google Docs for writing and share the Google Doc, using a link so no identifiable information will be shared, with me for writing feedback or use paper and send me a picture. Suppose your learner is new to using Google Docs and needs help navigating the platform. In that case, I am more than happy to do a tutorial via a live Zoom meeting or by sending a recorded video with instructions.

I will be providing feedback for all work submitted throughout the week.

Learners will complete assignments at their own pace, but I am available for questions. I can respond with a written explanation, a video explanation, or a live Zoom check-in if needed and schedules align.
