What's included
Homework
1-2 hours per week. Homework will consist of word problems, that increase in difficulty. There will be clearly marked sections - Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, etc. Beginners are encouraged to start at Level 1. More advanced learners may start at a higher level. Students are encouraged to submit 5 problems in a certain level, then move on to the next level. I encourage students to try at least 2 levels per week. Every child is different, but students should spend 30 - 90 minutes on this class every week.Assessment
I'm a big believer in learning from your mistakes. When I give students feedback, I expect them to correct their mistakes and resubmit until they get 100%. Once they get 100% on a certain level, they will get a badge for mastering that level.Class Experience

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! Welcome to a place of learning and fun! I am a certified teacher in math & science for grades 4-8.
My classes are all about engagement. I believe that if students are actively DOING something, they will learn more. You'll never hear me talk for more than 3 minutes at a time. I deliver a small chunk of info, and then I let the students process it by doing something with it. It could be a discussion, lab, worksheet, drawing, or game. I love games!
I teach group science classes, math game classes, and math tutoring. The math game classes are designed for kids who already know the concepts, but just need fun extra practice.
I look forward to working with you and your kiddo!
