Class Experience

We will be reading the book Flat Stanley and the Magic Lamp. Each class we will read 1 chapter. Before starting a new chapter, we will review what was read previously. Everyone will have a turn reading out loud, including me! While reading the chapters, we will discuss what was read. This will build reading comprehension. I will share my screen during each class so that we can read the book together.

If you haven't read the other Flat Stanley book, that is okay. While there are references to the previous books, each book can be read without having to read the previous books.

"Stanley Lambchop has found a real magic lamp with a genie inside! The genie tells Stanley he can wish for anything in the world: fame, a magical pet, superpowers—you name it.
When Stanley's family finds out about the genie, they have some wishes, too. But the more wishes Stanley makes, the stranger his own life becomes…"

New York Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hi! I'm a certified educator hailing from New York with a Master's in Special Education and a Bachelor's in Childhood Education. With experience across all elementary grades, I currently nurture young minds in first grade. Transitioning to distance learning, I leveraged Zoom to teach reading, math, science, social studies, and conduct engaging class meetings from March to June. Despite missing face-to-face interactions, I fostered connections through inventive activities like pet/stuffed animal show and tell, phonics-based scavenger hunts, and guided drawing sessions, ensuring learning remained enjoyable.

I designed and executed an enriching year-long fairy tale curriculum, exploring multicultural and traditional tales from various perspectives, nurturing critical thinking among students. I thrive on building lasting relationships with my students and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet you!
