Another day in the life of an adventurer comes and goes with the long trip to another town, one of many in your travels. But as you and your team cross over the hill and see a dragon flying over the town below everything changes. you are soon to be thrown unto an epic quest that will change the fate of the Forgotten Realms forever. In this adventure, students will partake in an epic adventure across the Forgotten Realms and delve into the realm of Avernus, settings within the world of Dungeons and Dragons. During this adventure, students will attept to thwart the efforts of a villanous group whose goal is to raise the Queen of Evil Dragons Tiamat, as well as a few other threats along the way. We will meet weekly on Fridays for nearly 3 hours and work together to acomplish our task for the evening. This is an excelent team building excersize, where students are encouraged to be creative, build community, be diverse, show empathy, and to grow as a group to overcome obstacles. As this is a cooporative environment, there are expectations for learners. Respect- Learners should be respectful toward one another and their teacher. PVP- (Player Vs. Player combat) is not condoned within this class. Metagaming- Metagaming comes in the form of reading the adventure or monster stat block ahead of the game session and using that knowledge to overcome obstacles. I prefer that you don't metagame. Honest Dice- Learners should tell the truth about what they roll on their dice. Sometimes bad rolls can lead to the most interesting outcomes. Safe Space- My classes are a safe space, I do not allow bullying of any kind, regardless of Race, Gender, Ethnicity, Identity, Etc. All are welcome in my classes. This ongoing class is learner-directed, meaning that the students will create the pace of the class. Each week, progress may change depending on how far the players push. We may get through the entire adventure quickly, or the players may want to inspect everything within their environment. Player agency in very important. I look forward to adventuring with you all. ^.^
