This course is designed to provide learners with an opportunity to work out like a First Responder. (Firefighter/Law Enforcement/Paramedic/Military) In this class, students will learn about the importance of fitness in our everyday lives, and are introduced to exercises commonly used by officers to improve fitness levels. Class is a 4-week course that meets once a week and is a remote, online course. Class is taught through guided instruction, teacher demonstration and student performance. There are no required prerequisites for this course, however, this course is a movement based class. We will be performing the exercises in a workout fashion. As with any exercise program, athletic attire is recommended, as well as access to water. It is always recommended that one meets with a physician prior to starting an exercise program. Week 1: Introduction to Dynamic Warm-Up Stretching vs Cool Down (Static) Stretching Week 2: Introduction to Strength training using our body weight Week 3: Introduction to Speed Training using Plyometrics (Jumping, Skipping, etc.) Week 4: Introduction to Endurance Training using High Interval Training (HIT)

Parental Guidance
As with any exercise program, athletic attire is recommended, as well as access to water. It is always recommended that one meets with a physician prior to starting an exercise program.
Safety Concerns: Learners should attend class in a space free of tripping hazards.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have dedicated over 15 years of my life to fitness and strength training. Certified by the International Sports Sciences Association as an ELITE TRAINER, I have experience training clients of varying backgrounds, ages and genders.
I have also worked full-time as law enforcement officer for over 11 years, 6 of which I have served as a certified instructor. Using these experiences, I have worked with multiple officers to prepare for fitness tests or just improve their overall fitness.
In addition, I currently hold certification in Fundamentals Of Coaching from the National Federation of State High Schools as well as an Athletic Coach licensure from the Public Education Department. I currently serve as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for a local high school football team.
