First Grade Summer Math Curriculum Ongoing/Review
In this ongoing course, students will have the opportunity to learn math concepts taught yearly in schools at first grade level. Proficiency in first grade math prepares them for more complex topics such as measurement and base operations.

1 hour per week. There will be worksheets offered for learners to work on after class relating to the lesson of the day. Learners are welcome to request more homework for extra practice or to better understand the specific concept.Assessment
One assessment will be offered once after every ending of a unit. Assessments will be created by me and will go over the concepts taught from that specific unit. I will offer a third date on the 4th week to take the assessment, or learners can take it at home during their own time. Assessments are not required, but are encouraged as I can give more feedback on what would be best to help support the learner in the future.Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 1
→ In this First Grade Curriculum Ongoing/Review class, learners will deep dive into a fun, live, and engaging experience to understand the importance of critical thinking through story problems and more and how they occur in our day to day lives. Learners will be introduced to techniques and strategies to solve questions relating to a variety of problems! For a beginning course, this class covers topics between K-1st grade! This class if great for learners who would like to learn a new math concept or want some extra review! → To maintain a highly engaging and fun course, students will visually learn through a variety of examples through math games, visual aids, and stories. → This class is scheduled to be ongoing covering specific topics, with 2 lessons occurring each week! Unit 1: Connecting with Addition & Subtraction 🎯 Week 1 (06/02-06/08): Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems through different strategies to solve the unknown number to represent the problem 🎯 Week 2 (06/09-06/15): Use properties of operations as different ways to add and subtract 🎯 Week 3 (06/16-06/22): Understand subtraction as an unknown type problem 🎯 Week 4 (06/23-06/29): Connect counting to addition and subtraction 🎯 Week 5 (06/30-07/06): Add and subtract within 20 (non-word problems) Unit 2: Addition and & Subtraction within 20 🎯 Week 6 (07/07-07/13): Two-Digit Numbers 🎯 Week 7 (07/14-07/20): Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems through different strategies to solve the unknown number to represent the problem (cont.) 🎯 Week 8 (07/21-07/27): Use properties of operations as different ways to add and subtract (cont.) 🎯 Week 9 (07/28-08/03): Add and subtract within 20 (cont.) 🎯 Week 10 (08/04-08/10): Story problems that add 3 whole numbers at a time (sum is no higher than 20) Unit 3: Solving and Making Comparisons with Word Problems 🎯 Week 11 (08/11-08/17): Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems through different strategies to solve the unknown number to represent the problem (cont.) 🎯 Week 12 (08/18-08/24): Understand subtraction as an unknown type problem (cont.) 🎯 Week 13 (08/25-08/31): Add and subtract within 20 (cont.) 🎯 Week 14 (09/01-09/07): Understanding the equal sign and determine true/false addition equations 🎯 Week 15 (09/08-09/14): Organize, represent, and interpret data 🎯 Week 16 (09/15-09/21): Identifying the unknown whole number from a 3 whole number addition/subtraction equation [to be added later] Unit 4: Counting by Using Tens and Ones Unit 5: Operations with Tens and Ones Unit 6: Measurement and Geometry
