Your little star will reach their full potential and have fun learning with new weekly themes, songs, and more every week! Our class is a safe and happy place for all learners. During our ongoing classes, your learners will learn and master all the skills they need to succeed in First Grade and build a strong early literacy, math, and social-emotional foundation. These skills include letter sounds, phonics, sight words, reading comprehension, math, addition and subtraction, shapes, fractions, telling time, social skills, and more. They will receive expert guidance from a certified early elementary educator every step of the way. Our class will meet 2 times per week (Monday + Wednesday or Tuesday + Thursday). No class on Friday unless I notify parents otherwise. Each class will last 30 minutes. Each week, we will have a different theme and focus on 1 phonics skill, 1 sight word, sentence writing, 1 reading comprehension skill, 2 math skills, and learn some vocabulary with the theme of the week. We will read a new story each reading block and listen to a fun math song each math block. 📅 This class is ongoing so your learner can join any week! 📅 🎨 Circle Time 🎨 (Both Days): - Greetings/Hello Song - Review the calendar 📚 Reading Block 📚 (Mondays/Tuesdays): - Fun theme words - Phonics skill of the week - Sight word of the week - Sentence writing - Story and Reading Comprehension skill of the week - Fun brain break 🧮 Math Block 🧮 (Wednesdays/Thursdays): - Fun theme problem of the day - 2 Math skills of the week - Fun brain break 👋 End of Class 👋 (Both Days): - Sharing time: Students can share their worksheets or one thing they loved about the class! 📚 Ongoing Support 📚 I will provide parents with worksheets to print and have their learners complete during or after class. These are optional and your child can use a whiteboard or blank paper at home if you would prefer. Crayons or colored pencils are helpful to have during class time. I will mute all students when needed to minimize background noise. Please make sure your learner either knows how to mute/unmute. Please sit with them during class so they are able to share when it's their turn. I want your little learner to feel excited to share and not get frustrated when they cannot unmute themselves. From the teacher side of Zoom, we can only "ask to unmute" but the student will have to actually click the button to unmute themselves. ⭐ Let's Communicate ⭐ I will share a monthly newsletter in the classroom at the start of every month. This newsletter will be a valuable resource for you, containing weekly topics we will cover, any schedule changes, and helpful tips and tricks to support your learners at home. Let's work together to create a nurturing and successful learning environment where your child can thrive! 📌 2024-2025 School Year 📌 🗓 No classes will be held on: 🗓 September: 2nd, 12th, 25th October: 14th November: 11th (Holiday), 21st (Afternoon), 25th - 29th (Fall Break) December: 23rd - 31st (Winter Break) January: 1st - 3rd (Winter Break), 20th (Holiday) March: 17th - 21st (Spring Break) The last week of classes is May 19th - 23rd! Hi, everyone!
My name is Chantal Macias, and I live in Florida, USA. I am a certified teacher who has 20+ years of experience working with young children.
I have officially taught Kindergarten for 7 years and homeschooled my child during the toddler and preschool years. I also have experience tutoring, volunteering in classrooms and teaching ESL, ESE and Gifted students. I love using my own curriculum to help young children get ready for Kindergarten through fun hands-on activities.
While I homeschooled my child, I also taught children in other countries online. It was so inspiring to watch them learn and grow even though they lived across the world from me. I believe all children have the right to the best education possible, whether that is in a traditional class or at home.
When your child enters my class, they are going to embark on a fun journey into the world of preschool and Kindergarten through digital and printable themed activity packs that are designed for toddlers and preschoolers that included reading, math, science, art, and music activities! The best part about teaching my students is watching those lightbulb moments and seeing the wonder in their eyes when they learn something new. My goal is to make learning fun while keeping things simple so they grow to be confident, motivated, and empowered.
