This interactive class will review the following in preparation for First Grade: -Phonics Review of Letter Sounds -Review some Word Families -Phonemic Awareness Activities (Rhyming) -Review of Short Vowel Sounds -Review of CVC Reading and Writing -Introduction to Long Vowel Sounds and Digraphs -Sight Word Practice -Kinder and Beginning of First Grade Reading Fluency Passages -Kinder Math Review -Review Adding and Subtracting Facts The class will be structured around instructional materials presented in a Google Slides presentation. Throughout the lesson, students will be encouraged to ask questions and have lots of interaction with the teacher. Students will be reading aloud, writing words and working on math problems, along with the teacher. Support will be provided and learners will be encouraged to ask clarifying questions. My teaching style is highly supportive and encouraging! This class is designed for students that could benefit from a Kinder review and would like a sneak peak at early First Grade reading and math skills.
Learning Goals
Students will review Kinder skills and will be introduced to some First Grade phonics, reading and math concepts!
