This one week class will focus on learning how to do basic subtraction. Each lesson contains one 5-10 minute mini-lesson along with guided practice for the skill of the day. After class students will have activities to show their proficiency in that skill therefore a printer is necessary. This self paced course is a part of my growing Math Workshop series tailored to teaching specific skills in a weekly course. Since this is a self paced class, students can go through the course at their own pace to suit their personal learning style and schedule however, for maximum retention and practice a week is recommended with one lesson a day. LESSON 1 will focus on counting backwards from 20 while creating a rocket ship to be used as a reference tool for the rest of the week. LESSON 2 Subtraction within 10 using manipulatives LESSON 3 Subtraction from 10 counting backwards LESSON 4 Subtracting from 20 using a number line LESSON 5 Students will be review what we learned during the week and and extra practice worksheets and extension activities will be provided. Lesson 1 will focus on counting backwards from 20 while creating a rocket ship to be used as a reference tool for the rest of the week. 11 mins of video lessons
Lesson 2:
Subtraction within 10 using manipulatives
Lesson 2 will focus on using a ten frame and math manipulatives to subtract 9 mins of video lessons
Lesson 3:
Subtraction from 10 counting backwards
Lesson 3 will focus on solving equations by counting backwards 10 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
Subtracting from 20 using a number line
Lesson 4 will focus on subtraction using a number line. 9 mins of video lessons

I have been lucky enough throughout my career to have taught grades K through 6 and be a math and reading interventionist.
