Finding Your Voice: Attack on Animation
I will begin with the fundamentals of voice over and finish with the process of character development. What voice over is, vocal health, working with copy (scripts/sides), VO equipment, making non-human sounds and character development.

Hi! My name is kittie KaBoom and I am a working Voice Over actor based in Los Angeles for over 20 years. I LOVE animation! I have voiced many characters throughout the years on shows like Disney's American Dragon and Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Nickelodeon's Barnyard and Danny Phantom and even Cartoon Network's Young Justice. Students will learn the definition of VO, how it is used in media; specifically animation. They will learn what the necessary tools are, how to work with "copy", how to create a back story and development for characters. We will practice tone, cadence, delivery, accents, projection and pursuing the next steps of becoming a professional if thats what they wish to do.
I have been a working VO Actor for over 20 years. I hosted my own show as an VR character using VO, narrated a book, commercials, meditations, and voiced many animated characters on multiple shows both adult and for children. I currently coach adults on a one-on-one basis through Zoom, and I am also an Audio Describer for the sight impaired community.
Homework Offered
I am assigning animated shows, interviews with VO greats, movies to watch as well as script analyzation projects and character breakdowns.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will assess progress, consistency, commitment and understanding throughout the 8 weeks. There will be no tests, but discussions that are meant to confirm and retain the information being taught.Grades Offered
I don't have any provisions in place for unique learning needs, but I am open to implementing them and I welcome ANYONE who wants to learn the art of VO.
There are no pre-requisites.
A television or electronic device where they can access the internet.
Nothing scary, negative or violent will be included in this class.
