Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Welcome to "Introduction to Financial Literacy Through Real Estate"! This 4-week class is designed to introduce learners to essential financial concepts through the exciting lens of real estate. Whether your child dreams of owning their own home one day, wants to understand how mortgages work, or is simply interested in learning about money management, this course will equip them with valuable skills and knowledge.

What Will Be Taught?
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of financial literacy, with a focus on real estate. Topics covered will include budgeting, understanding income and expenses, credit and loans, and an introduction to mortgages. By the end of the course, students will have a clear understanding of how to set and achieve financial goals, particularly those related to real estate.

Class Structure:
This is a flexible schedule (Flex) class with no live meetings, allowing students to engage with the material at a time that suits them best. Each Monday, I will post a pre-recorded video lesson for the week. These videos are designed to be engaging and informative, with clear explanations, visual aids, and examples to help students understand the concepts.

Teaching Style:
My teaching style is engaging and interactive, even in a flex class format. I use a combination of video lectures, slides, and real-world examples to make financial literacy both fun and accessible. The videos will contain all the information needed to give students a solid understanding of each topic. Homework assignments are project-based, allowing students to apply what they've learned in a practical way.

Interaction and Support:
Although this is a flex class, there are plenty of opportunities for interaction and feedback:

*Mondays: I will post the lesson video for the week and invite students to submit any questions they have.

*Tuesdays-Wednesdays: I will be available to answer questions and provide additional guidance through the class discussion board.

*Thursdays: Students will need to complete their homework assignments and upload them to the classroom. These assignments are designed to take approximately 1-2 hours per week.

*Fridays: I will provide detailed feedback on the completed assignments, both to the class as a whole and to individual students. This feedback is crucial for helping students improve and understand the material fully.

Goal by the End of the Class Series:
By the end of the 4 weeks, students will have created a personal financial plan, understand the basics of credit and mortgages, and be well-equipped to make informed financial decisions related to real estate in the future. They will also have a foundational understanding of financial literacy that will benefit them in many aspects of life.

Homework and Assessment:
Homework will include various assignments and projects that are directly related to the week's lessons. These tasks are designed to reinforce the material and ensure that students can apply what they've learned. I will assess progress through informal assessment and provide individual feedback to help each student succeed. Parents can expect that students will spend approximately 1-2 hours per week on these assignments.

Please Note:
No prior experience in finance or real estate is required for this course. All necessary materials will be provided, and I will guide your child every step of the way. This course is designed to be accessible and engaging for all learners.

I look forward to helping your child embark on this exciting journey into financial literacy through real estate!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Creative, energetic, and enthusiast. That’s me. From the time I was I child, I had an entrepreneurship spirit. I spent my evenings and summers working with my father who owned a construction business. I developed a love for the real estate industry during this time. In high school, I learned how to upholster furniture, and that’s where I began my first business venture. I purchased old furniture, refinished it, and would resell items at my local flee market on the weekend. I learned at an early age how to effectively, and efficiently operate a company. Since that time, I’ve been able to utilize my interests, experiences, and education to doing what I love, selling real estate.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business administration with a concentration in Marketing. Later, I became a licensed Realtor. During this time, I worked as a team trainer, and real estate coach teaching goal setting, marketing strategies, lead generation, and contract management. I further enhanced my involvement in the real estate industry, became a Real Estate Broker, and opened a real estate brokerage firm. I use my marketing skills to prepare brochures, and videos to advertise my Real Estate Business.

My experience working with children is diverse. I acted as a class parent for many years. I am a regular parent volunteer at my child’s school, and shared my knowledge of how houses are built to teach kindergartners how to build a house, incorporating hands-on experience as I modeled, and assisted students in building their own houses.

I enjoy working with children teaching organizational skills, arts, crafts, math, money management and more. I look forward to sharing my passion to combine creativity with life skills for your learner.
