In this interactive financial literacy class, students will learn the basics of stock and crypto charts, focusing on building and reading simple charts using Yahoo Finance or any preferred charting site. Students will also apply math skills to analyze trends, making connections between data and market movements. Parental Guidance
Students will be using Yahoo Finance, a third-party website, to learn the basics of stock and crypto charts. Yahoo Finance is a safe and educational resource that does not require an account or login to use. No potentially upsetting or scary content will be presented in this class.
Pre-Requisites
Learners should have access to the internet to bring up Yahoo Finance or their preferred stock charting tool during the class. No prior experience is required, as the class is designed for beginners.
Teacher expertise and credentials
With 25 years of education experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for teaching financial literacy. I am a former stockbroker and analyst with extensive experience in the financial markets, having worked directly in stock trading and market analysis. Additionally, I have served on the Wharton Global Youth Educator Board, where I contributed to developing educational programs and resources for young learners. I have also taught at the Wharton Global Youth Summer School, helping students gain a deeper understanding of finance, investing, economics, and business. My background ensures that students receive practical, real-world insights combined with engaging, age-appropriate learning activities.
