In this 4-week camp, students will use the interactive platform Nearpod to analyze their money values, create a budget, complete various banking activities, and learn about stocks, index funds, and saving for retirement.

 Week 1
Lesson 1
Money Values
In this lesson, students will explore the intersection of personal values and financial decision-making. Throughout the class, students will engage in practical exercises and scenarios designed to simulate real-world financial decision-making. They will practice prioritizing expenses and making choices based on their financial resources and priorities.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Budgeting
In this lesson, students will learn about the fundamentals of budgeting and personal finance. Throughout the class, students will learn the purpose of a budget and how it serves as a financial roadmap for managing income and expenses effectively. They will explore the importance of categorizing expenses as needs and wants, helping them prioritize spending and make informed financial decisions.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Banking
In this lesson, students will use a guided simulation to learn about online bill pay, transfers, peer-to-peer payments, and mobile deposits. Throughout the class, students will explore the advantages of online and mobile banking compared to traditional banking methods. They will discover the convenience, accessibility, and efficiency of managing finances digitally. We will also explore best practices for creating strong passwords and safeguarding personal and financial data.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Investing
In this lesson, students will gain a deeper understanding of investing. They will explore the reasons for investing and engage in interactive activities and simulations to make a variety of investment decisions. This hands-on approach allows them to experience firsthand how different investment strategies can impact their financial growth over time.

Week 1: Budgeting for Teens
-Differentiate between income and expenses
-Classify expenses into needs or wants
-Think critically about how daily choices impact their budget now and in the future
Week 2: Budgeting
-Differentiate between gross and net pay
-Create a budget
-Research and choose appropriate budgeting apps
Week 3: Banking
-Use online bill pay
-Write a check
-Set up direct deposit
Week 4: Investing
-Explain various types of investments
-Analyze why diversification is important
-Use a retirement calculator
