Grow with Money - Bringing money topics to life through storytime.

In this ongoing class students practice important language arts and mathematics skills while learning about making choices, saving, spending, sharing, borrowing, prioritizing, setting goals and earning through personal finance skills.

Students are introduced to basic personal finance and economic concepts, such as choices, needs, wants, saving, spending, sharing and borrowing, setting goals and prioritizing.They will explore these concepts through popular children’s literature to reinforce reading fluency. In addition to reading integration, all lessons incorporate activities to enhance school-readiness skills, such as categorizing objects, counting, and letter recognition.

Core Standards, that students will explore
Literal Comprehension -  After students have read the book, use these or similar questions to generate discussion, enhance comprehension, and develop appreciation for the content. Encourage students to refer to passages and/or illustrations in the book to support their responses. To build skills in close reading of a text, students should cite textual evidence with their answers.

Social Emotional Learning - Social and emotional learning involves being aware of and regulating emotions for healthy development. In addition to understanding one’s own feelings, strong socio-emotional development allows individuals to develop empathy for others and to establish and maintain relationships.

Please make sure you check the reading list for changes, sometimes teachers may decide to change the order of the books.

My class is structured to be a stress free, fun, and interactive learning environment to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.  

How will you teach?
I will teach using slide presentations, interactive games and discussion for question and answer sessions.

What's your teaching style?
I believe that every child learns differently.  I do my best to accommodate individual learning styles.
