Summer Creative Writing Camp: Begin a Story With 5 Incredible Writer's Tricks

Film Screenwriting Workshop CAMP (10 - 14)

Sean Foster Collins, BA, BEd.
Average rating:4.9Number of reviews:(342)
In this 4-day camp, movie lovers and writers will discover the structure of film writing, how to write engaging stories that audiences will love and practice everything to start producing your own screenplay.

Class experience

Students will learn the proper formatting and rules of screenwriting. They will also learn some of the tricks of creating characters that audiences will relate to in an engaging film.
I have been a senior level English and Writer's Craft teacher for more than 20 years, but beyond that I am a writer of prose and screenplays myself. I've written a Young Adult novel and numerous screenplays. I've worked on-set of film and television productions, and I've been a script reader for production companies.
Homework Offered
Additional writing outside of class time is encouraged, but not mandatory. Learners will be assigned work to do after each of the classes to practice the skills we look at in our classes, and so that they can have work to share with the class on our last class together.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students are informally assessed by their screenplay formatting, discussions in class, and through constructive feedback on their writing skills.
Grades Offered
When developing stories, we will be open to discuss about some dangerous, romantic, spooky, and/or mildly violent scenes, and then write about them. Make sure your learner is okay with that.
