I review the following expectations at the beginning of each class: 1. Stay on mute unless you have raised your hand and/or Ms. Bria has called on you. (This will allow a respectful environment in which all students have the opportunity to participate fairly.) 2. Be kind to and patient with our classmates and teacher! (I always expect that students are at various levels of ability. I ask for students to be patient with one another to ensure that everyone has "think time". I will provide differentiated scaffolded questions to each learner and additional problems for fast finishers). 3. Annotate on the screen only when asked. (This course is interactive! Students will have the ability to annotate on the screen, if their device allows for this capability. They can also use a piece of paper to show their mathematical thinking as well.) SIBLINGS Each learner that wants to participate must be enrolled in the class to be fair to all enrolled students. CLASS SIZE In order to differentiate these lessons and provide adequate support to each learner, each of my math courses are limited to five students. I strive to provide quality math instruction to each learner, and I strongly believe that small group instruction is the best strategy. Due to the nature of ongoing classes and the limited space in each of my courses, I am unable to give refunds to students when a class is missed. REFUNDS& TRANSFERS Per Outschool's refund policy "Parents receive a full refund if they withdraw from a class or stop their ongoing class subscription within 24 hours of purchasing a class of any type. A full refund is also provided if a parent stops their ongoing class subscription within 24 hours of auto-renewal."

Teacher expertise and credentials
Georgia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello! I am Bria Pete and I am so excited to meet your learner. I currently live in Georgia, and I am finishing my 13th year as an elementary educator. I have taught 3rd and 4th grade for 8 years, served as an instructional coach for 5 years, and recently returned to the classroom as a 5th grade teacher!
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University and Troy University, respectively. I also have an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Kennesaw University, as well as a Gifted endorsement. In addition to my B&M experience, I have taught ESL online and provide 1:1 private tutoring.
I strongly believe that a classroom should be inviting, engaging, motivating, and rigorous. This is the type of classroom I aim to have (in-person and virtually), by providing guided practice, differentiated and interactive activities, and personalized feedback… with some laughs along the way. :)
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. I look forward to seeing your learner in my virtual classroom soon!
