In this ongoing course, students will listen to and reflect on stories that promote positive social-emotional development.
Class experience
Great books engage readers, inspire imagination, and make you feel something! Feel Good Storytime encourages positive feelings, thoughts, and character traits in your learner through stories that touch the heart. Learners can expect to hear the expressive reading of 2 to 3 picture book stories that promote healthy social-emotional development, such as embracing mistakes, making good choices, reflecting on emotions, and caring for others. Students will learn social and emotional skills from a variety of picture books that promote positive growth and character development, such as developing empathy and compassion. Learners will also practice skills during class, including listening, participating, observing, and perspective-taking.
Welcome! I am Dr. Syreeta. I love helping learners develop the emotional skills and confidence they need to thrive socially and academically. My training is in clinical psychology with a focus on parent-child attachment and family therapy. My Outschool classes are not therapy or a medical service.
Parent guidance is not required in this course. Learners will gain social and emotional skills to help them grow and manage challenges. This skills-based class is not a therapeutic or medical service. It does not replace mental health providers or therapeutic services. Play-Doh may contain wheat, which could cause an allergic reaction if ingested by those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac disease.
