FCS Future Chef's Baking Club (Yummy Sweets)

In this weekly, ongoing course, learners will develop culinary skills while learning to read recipes and create some delicious sweet treats. I like to keep class sizes small to meet the needs of neuro-typical and atypical learners.

Class Experience

Students will build and improve on kitchen skills as they create delicious sweet baked goods. This class focuses strictly on desserts and other baked sweet treats.
I am a seasoned "home cook", having been working in the kitchen with my family for over 40 years. I have been educating children professionally for 15 years. I have been teaching cooking and baking classes on the Outschool platform since March of 2020.
Week of 8/7/22 - Marble cupcakes with frosting Week of 8/14/22 - Maple Walnut Coffee Cake Week of 8/21/22 - White Texas Sheet Cake Week of 8/28/22 - Chocolate Cobbler Week of 9/4/22 - Lemon Blueberry Sheet Cake Week of 9/11/22 - Pecan Cream Pie (no bake) Week of 9/18/22 - 5 Ingredient Lemon Bars Week of 9/25/22 - Baked Apples Week of 10/2/22 - Simple Baked Cheesecake Week of 10/16/22 - Key Lime Pie Week of 10/23/22 - Banana Pudding Bars Week of 10/30/22 - Pumpkin Spice Cookies
Learners progress will be measured by the creation of weekly sweet treats.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance is recommended as learners will be using kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, knives and other items that could be considered dangerous.
Parents should note that we may be working with potential allergens such as wheat, gluten, nuts or other items that might cause allergic reactions.
