Beginner Level
This is an ongoing Fashion Design and Technique Club, where students will learn about and execute different designs, silhouettes and techniques. We will work on seasonal designs and learn which silhouettes and fabrics are appropriate. Learners may use either a Croquis that I've supplied, or their own fashion figures, as a base template. We will customize our poses as needed. Let your individual style show through after the technique is learned, or follow along with my step by step sketching, either way is fine! Learners may use whichever drawing, sketching, Art materials they feel comfortable with. I like to use digital medium with different "brushes" to show how different coloring/painting methods look on different designs (ex. watercolors on softer silhouettes, pastels on others, etc.) 🔶Each Class will include: 🔸New technique 🔸New Fashion Term 🔸New Silhouette Design August Class Themes: ▫️Beach Day ▫️Garden Party ▫️Moonlight Dance ▫️Floral Brunch September Class Themes: ▫️Pumpkin Patch ▫️Autumn Leaves ▫️Camp Fire ▫️Sweater Weather I will include various Croquis (fashion figure) poses that work for different types of outfits. These poses will be supplied to students. 🎨 Traditional Art Supplies that work well: White Paper or Marker Paper (you can see through it to trace poses) Printed pose to trace (the ones I supplied or your own) Pencil/Eraser Black felt tip Outline/Sketch pen Coloring medium of choice

I offer a wide range of art and design courses tailored to individual learners' needs and skill levels. With my background in Art, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Illustration, I have a well rounded experience portfolio to share with my students. I am currently an Art teacher and Graphic Designer. Formerly, Fashion Design and Illustration for 9+ years in NYC.
After graduating from Fashion Institute of Technology, I worked in Womenswear on Fashion Avenue (7th Ave) for many years. Fashion Design has a lot of technical aspects that most students don't realize, it's not about just drawing beautiful clothing, it's about knowing why and how stitching and fabric textures flow and fold also. I'm confident your student will gain a ton of knowledge.
