Fantastic Favors: Turkey or Unicorn Horn Treat Jar.
Class experience
Chocolate covered pretzels, cute adorable animals, what’s not to love? In this 55 minute class students can make their very own Turkey or Unicorn Treat Jar. We will not only create our jar base for whichever animal you choose, we will also make our chocolate covered pretzels and decorate. The supply list will vary based on your choice. Supervision is suggested since students may need help melting their chocolate as it will get hot and could potentially be a hazard. Also students will work...
This is a fun, social class, where students create an edible masterpiece.
As a mom of 7, some of my best memories with my kids are craft time. I hope to share this with you all. I have taught for over 20 years and truly enjoy every minute with my students. I attempted to make this class for those that celebrate Thanksgiving, while including those that do not. I recognize that not all of our learners celebrate holidays or choose to celebrate Thanksgiving and I respect that. I do not plan to talk to about Thanksgiving but will let conversations flow naturally with the understanding that all families have different beliefs and different ways of living their best lives.

Turkey (I purchased all items from Michaels): orange and red felt scissors around 23 mm googly eyes (I'm using 22) glue gun glue sticks 5.6 x 4.8 inch round glass jar (found in floral department) (I'm using 6 inch from Michaels) Pretzels: Melting Milk or Dark Chocolate (Wilton is great) Sprinkles I purchased these from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09CDQY1SJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1O85R2X252EWG&psc=1 Long pretzels Enough chocolate covered raisins or peanuts to fill your jar at least 3/4 of the way. Unicorn pink felt white felt 3 artificial flowers glue gun glue stick scissors 5.6 x 4.8 inch round glass jar (found in floral department) (I'm using 6 inch from Michaels) Note: Unicorn eye stickers--You can use googly eyes but the unicorn stickers look more authentic. I purchased mine from Etsy. They do have some on Amazon but the shipping takes awhile. You can also make them with a cricut. Stickers---- (2 inch) https://www.etsy.com/listing/817841973/eyelashes-sticker-unicorn-eyes-stickers?ref=internal_similar_listing_bot-3&frs=1 or Cricut Pattern---- https://www.etsy.com/listing/1012299827/unicorn-svg-unicorn-face-svg-unicorn?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=unicorn+cricut+design&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1&pop=1 Pretzels White melting chocolate sprinkles long pretzels bubble gum or pastel color candy. I am using these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074HTJQN4/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2OCJT6B643ZNH Note: You can be creative with your jars. I have seen people use Mason Jars. You do want to be careful to have an opening on top where you can get enough pretzels to fit
Parent assistance may be needed with heating up chocolate and dipping pretzels. We will also be using a hot glue gun for our felt pieces and potentially make a bit of a fun mess with sprinkles. I recommend a baking sheet and wax or parchment paper.
I do want to recognize a blogging friend of mine who gave me permission to use her turkey image and idea to teach this class. I will post a picture of my unicorn jar before class begins so you all can see it in full. It is similar to the turkey except it has unicorn eye stickers, ears, and flowers, that lead to our pretzel horns. Thank you Jocelyn from InsideBruCrew Life for the turkey jar image and idea. Check out her other craft ideas!
