As a creative subject, the homework is always to practice...as many times as they wish. I would like to inspire them/ to drive them to express themselves visually as often as possible. That being said, this will hopefully encourage them to complete any unfinished work from the class :)Assessment
I request my Young Artists/ their parents to send me 'all' completed works of art following the class. Every 6 weeks, I will email them back with an assessment of each of their creations . My intention is always to encourage them to keep exploring, and keep creating!Class Experience
Art is a core subject. It is important to be able to appreciate someone else's thought process, and what they're expressing using shapes, colours, lines to express themselves. To learn the language of visuals is essential... I am eager to educate young artists about the many different art forms, pioneered by some fantastic artists! I begin the lesson with a PowerPoint presentation of the selected school of art, which will introduce my Young Artists to an artist who is well known for that particular style. With this as inspiration, I will guide them to create their own piece based on that "Ism". I encourage my Artists to voice their ideas before creating, and then to describe their process to their classmates once completed. Intelligent choices, following the guidance from me, will encourage them to practice the following schools of Art:- Week1- Cubism Week 2- Pointillism Week 3.- Expressionism Week 4. - Surrealism Week 5- Modern Art Week 6- Pop Art. * As these are Ongoing Classes, and our world is filled with remarkable Artists, I shall continue to add current and International Artists to my lessons. All my Young Artists will need to bring to class is their curiosity to learn and the eagerness to express themselves! (and of course the Art materials required!) This particular session caters to Eager Young Artists, (7-11). However based on demand I am happy to set up a class to give my Eager Experienced Artists - Ages 12-15
Learning Goals
The Young Artists will be taken back in time, to learn about the many brilliant artists across our world. They will be introduced to the practice of the artists, and eventually, be able to identify a style that suits their thoughts, or even create their own! This knowledge will then be displayed, in creating their understanding of the school of art- using the learnt techniques. My incentive is to lead them to understand the various ways to share their thoughts and ideas, in a style that suits their inspiration. I will be more than happy to set up
Other Details
Parental Guidance
While learning about the School of Surrealism, there is a small chance that my younger Artists, might be a little perplexed/startled to see clouds in the eyes (Rene Margritte ) or melting clocks (Salvador Dali). I will of course be cautious of their age, and find apprpriate examples to show
Supply List
Every lesson will require:- 1. An A4 sized (or larger if preferred) Multi-Media Sketch Book and a pencil case with basic objects (pencils, eraser, sharpener, ruler, a black sharpie pen) Particular art supplies (set of oil pastels/ set of watercolours./ set of good quality markers or Brush Pens/ A set of Acrylic paints. , and of course, a few sizes of brushes will be needed in some lessons *I shall always list the materials needed for the next upcoming class, so there is no requirement to purchase ALL the Art Supplies ahead of time. I will give at least a 7-day notice to equip them with the required materials. This is because the material needed will often be based on the general ability of my Young Artists

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Cambridge School of Art - Anglia Ruskin University
I have run an afterschool art club for several school terms in my city of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Along side these clubs, I have ofcourse eagerly exposed my own three children to my love of Art. The most advantageous of which, was the teaching to my youngest, who was born with Down Syndrome; as with him, I learnt to appreciate his efforts, in the manner that he understood them, and to celebrate the smallest of his achiements :)
