Lesson 1:
Falling Leaves
This lesson brings the Fall season to life through music and stories. Students will practice using their voices to sing songs, and enhance these songs with motions. The Falling Leaves lesson introduces the music element, pitch. Students will apply their knowledge, identifying pitch by moving their hands high or low. Students will also use their voice to perform "vocal sirens" that go high and low. As an extension activity, students can create their own vocal sirens.

Lesson 2:
Pumpkins
This lesson has songs and stories about pumpkins. Students continue to practice typical class routines: rhythm/vocal warmup and steady beat. This is transferred to steady beat playing on a drum (upside down storage bin or something similar). Students are introduced to another music element, dynamics, by practicing loud vs. quiet. The whisper voice and singing voice are practiced through a children's book. Rhythm is introduced by relating it to syllables in words. Extension: rhythms on drum

Lesson 3:
Turkeys
The final lesson in this series is using songs and stories about Turkeys. Students are introduced to an egg shaker instrument (pencil box or box of dry rice), and they use the instrument for sound effects in the story. We practice steady beat, and a lesson extension activity with the egg shaker is provided.

👋 Hello! Welcome to Music Memories Academy. My name is Ms. Jessica, and I'm thrilled to have you here!

I believe every child has the potential for musicianship. My passion is to ignite joy and curiosity in my students, fostering a lifelong love for music and creating cherished memories. With over 8 years of experience teaching music in both classroom settings and private lessons, I love introducing children to the fundamentals of music. In our group and self-paced classes, students will sing, play instruments, move to music, explore elements (rhythm, tempo, and pitch, etc.) and participate in engaging activities that enhance their skills and appreciation for music. Private lessons will focus on recorder or flute instruction tailored to each student’s unique goals and learning needs.

Access to music education provides children with a powerful way to express themselves and connect with others, offering tremendous social and emotional benefits. I strive to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where every student feels encouraged to participate, grow, and have fun. Together, we will create beautiful "Music Memories!"
