This weekly fall Storytime and learning club is especially for young homeschoolers! Created by a homeschool parent and English teacher, each meeting is designed to foster a growing learner's love for reading, all while boosting socialization, English language arts, and literacy skills. We'll celebrate fall, nature, and fun themes! Learners will enjoy an engaging weekly focus and two new Storytime books to read each week, with the running book list featured in the Syllabus section of the course. Parents do not have to purchase the books unless they want them for their own library. I will read aloud every book in its entirety, and pages will be shown to the class during the reading. Learners are encouraged to share! I will provide direction each week, but this may include a toy, a stuffy, or costume item to share to go with the theme. We may also have a short learning discussion or a brainstorming and imagination session on the topic. Students can sit on the floor, in a desk, color while learning; whatever makes them comfortable! Snacks are also welcome. All I ask is we keep background noise to a minimum or help our learner toggle their Mute function so everyone can be heard. This class is an excellent environment for elementary-aged homeschool learners, hybrid learners, siblings, and preschool-aged students! Taught by an experienced teacher, tutor, creative writing instructor, and homeschool parent. Please review the Syllabus section to see our weekly themes and book list. See you soon!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to socialize, share, and communicate in a positive, respectful manner with children in their age group.
