 Week 1
Lesson 1
Exploring Owls
We will discuss owls, share “flying” toys or stuffed animals, and read "Owl Babies" by Martin Waddell and "Little Owl's Night" by Divya Srinivisan
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Walking Through Gardens
We will talk about the importance of gardens and fresh produce, learn about how apples grow, share our favorite fruits and veggies, and read the books, How Do Apples Grow? by Betsy Maestro and "Backyard Bugs" by Jill McDonald
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Discovering Trees and Fall Leaves
We will examine how trees change in fall, examine and share leaves, talk about animals that live in trees, and read the two books, "The Leaf Thief" by Alice Hemming and "Hush!" by Mingfong Ho
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Wonders of Weather
We'll discuss different types of weather, talk about our favorite weather, see how it's looking outside, and read the books, "Weather" by Jill McDonald and "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" by Judi Barrett
 Week 5
Lesson 5
All About Trains and Vehicles
We will talk about trains, share our favorite moving vehicles, and read "The Little Engine That Could" by Watty Piper and "Thomas and the Dinosaur" by Christopher Awdry
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Loving Planet Earth
We will talk about the beauty of planet Earth and discuss its treasures, like rocks and minerals! We will share our favorite natural items or animals. I will bring various rocks! We will read "Planet Earth" by Jill McDonald and "Rocks & Minerals" by Jill McDonald
  • Students will learn how to socialize, share, and communicate in a positive, respectful manner with children in their age group.
  • Students will explore their world through sensory and imagery.
  • Students will enhance reading comprehension and vocabulary.
  • Students will enhance information recall, practice answering questions, demonstrate knowledge of beginning literary concepts of print books, and learn how to describe main characters and setting.
  • Students will learn new facts about their world.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Central Florida, I am an experienced teacher and teacher's assistant at the pre-K and elementary level, I have a creative writing instructor certificate from the University of Central Florida, and I am a homeschool parent/teacher to an elementary-aged child. 
Certificate of Completion
Frequency: 1 after class completion
Details: Students who attend the entire fall course will receive a certificate after the last class.
