Homework
1 hour per week. Learners will practice reading and discussing text as well as write brief story summaries during class time.
Assessment
Individual goals will be set at the beginning of class and measured week 1 and then again periodically weeks 4, 8, 12,and final class.

Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
This class is  designed for learners who want support to improve their  writing.  Students will learn 3 types of writing  most requested in the classroom - expository narrative and opinion composition.  They will learn the steps necessary to organize plan out then draft out their ideas. Learners will be motivated in the class to practice essential sentence writing and grammar skills.  

Each week  students try out new skills such as how to improve topic sentences, word choice  and transitions . My aim is to teach writers to  develop their love of  expression ,plus learn how to summarize and synthesize as they write. We will review critical writing  methods and review  idea development,

Each class will include a range of teaching methods and activities that are designed to engage the learners in both a hands-on and minds-on way. Classes will include discussions, Q&A, quizzes, games, worksheets, songs, videos and much more.  Learners will be encouraged to write, revise and share what they write. A variety of methods are used to support learners and cater for different learning styles and needs.

Learning Goals

Learners will begin at their own pace following initial assessment  and pick up reading skill over the semester class  period.
