Class Experience

In this fun on going class, your learner will engage in a new fall themed book each week and create a new craft each week.
Each week we will read a book based on the theme and create one to two crafts, time permitted. 
Week 1: scarecrows- children's book The Scarecrow by Beth Ferry (tentative date week of Nov 2nd)
Week 2: leaves- children's book Sweep by Louise Greg  (tentative date week of Nov 9th)
Week 3: sleighs- children's book Over the River Through the Woods by Lydia Maria Child (tentative date week of Nov 16th)
Week 4: balloons/parade- children's book Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet (tentative date week of Nov 23rd)
For this class, students will need their basic art supplies and the ability to use them! Items that may be used include: popsicle sticks, brown paper bags, string, scissors, glue, crayons, paints, etc. One special craft supply for the last week will be styrofoam balls and paints to create your own Macy's Day Parade Float.
When you enroll, I will promptly send you the supply list so that you can double check if you have them on hand.
I'm happy to have the little ones take this class as long as there is someone to help them with the craft portion.

Hello! My name is Tammyjo and I look forward to teaching your child! 
I love teaching! I have been teaching in some capacity for 10+ years! I love to see the moment when it all clicks for a child, whether it's learning to read, learning the days of the week, learning the alphabet or creating a new game, it never stops putting a smile on my face! I graduated from Old Dominion University in 2012 and I have since been a director to a local non-profit and ran my own home preschool/daycare. 
Fun fact about me, I am the mother to five girls!! Ages range from almost 13 years to six months! 

A few classes you will see on my schedule are: 
Teach Your Child to Read through Motions!-we will work through four letters at a time and be able to read three letter words at the end of each lesson!! 
Fingerprint poster of the Alphabet-here we will create fingerprint for each letter with a beautiful hang-worthy poster to show for. 
Poetry Teatime-where we will share a cup of tea and read fun poetry and in future classes, learn how to create our own poems! 
For older students, there will be book club and games-including a class on creating your own game!

Classroom Policy: 

Please note that if no learners are logged in to class within 10 minutes of the class starting, class will be considered completed for the day.

I will be mindful of our class time, however we may run over a few minutes or end a few minutes early depending on number of learners in the course and the content being taught. 

When only one student is registered for a course, I will message parent about transferring student to another section. I will consider teaching a one on one course case by case.
