Building confidence is key to any foreign language, and that is what I will be doing through this class. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fairytales & Stories in Italian is a series of classes that include learning vocabulary, short conversation questions and answers, as well as a story. Classes can be taken consecutively or not. We review regularly and learned some questions/answers in Italian to do with the story. This specific class is a shorter version (4 days instead of 7 days) that goes over a longer story of Cinderella in Italian than in the Cinderalla and Castles class. There will not be vocabulary flashcards included. If time permits, we will do some mini-conversation skills. Cinderella and Castles is not a required prerequisite but would help in understanding some vocabulary first. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Class 1-4: We will read through Cenerentola with Italian and English translations and pictures. Students will get a pdf of this story to print off if desired. Class 1: We will read pages 1-4. Class 2: We will read pages 5-9. Class 3: We will read pages 10-13 Class 4: We will read pages 14-19. ---------------------------------------------------- *Each time, we will review some from the last lesson. *No homework unless they want to look over part of the story we did in class. *Students will be given a PDF, PowerPoint, coloring sheets, or crafts each class for the vocabulary learned. *Schedule is subject to change. ----------------------------------------------------- I will have more Italian classes coming soon! *Also you can request a new time if you need a different time slot.
Learning Goals

We will use Fable Cottage's website to view the story in Italian with English translations. You are not required to have an account with them; though having an paid account with them will unlock extra features and access to other stories which you may be interested in. Students may look at the website to review after class the story.
Quizlet may be used to review vocabulary from the story. Students will need an account to use Quizlet and play Match and use the other review tools. We won't use Quizlet in class.

I believe that taking foreign language classes opens the doors to many opportunities. In high school, I took Spanish, and at university, I took up through Intermediate level in Italian. I now give students the opportunity to learn Italian language by making it fun and engaging through my teaching style, print offs, and Quizlets games. I have been teaching basic through intermediate Italian courses for over 3 years involving basic conversation skills, grammar (present indicative, passato prossimo, conjugating verbs with pronouns, adjectives reflecting the correct the-- as there are 7 the's in Italian, and more), as well as vocabulary and fairytale reading classes to make the language to come to life in a fun way.
