Students will learn about or review fact families in addition and subtraction first. They will then work on understanding fact families as they relate to multiplication and division. They will practice as a whole group to find a few basic multiplication products in order to create fact families. They will work on drawing pictures and/or skip counting in order to see the relationship between multiplication and division. They will finish up the class by using fact families in order to find missing numbers in equations for both multiplication and division! Students should have a basic understanding of multiplication in order to feel successful in this class environment.
Students should bring something to write with and something to write on! Even if it's only scrap paper and a pencil!
I have a passion for working with young learners in a kind and fun manner. I love to teach and have been doing so in a public school classroom, in an online classroom and at home with my own five learners for a combination of 15 years.
