Using inverse operations to solve division problems

Commutative Property to Multiply Larger Numbers
Apply the distributive and commutative properties to relate multiplication facts 5 x n + n to 6 x n and n x 6 where n is the size of the unit.

Count by units of 6 to multiply and divide using number bonds to decompose.

  • Students will improve their multiplication and division fluency and algorithm processes.
 I am a licensed educator who has over a decade of teaching experience. I have a degree in K-6 education with state licensure, have taught 4th grade for 6 years, taught 1st grade during my student teaching period, and I homeschooled five of my children for over the past 20 years. I have taught over 1,000 students on Outschool for the last 4 years.

Accommodations are planned for students who may have dyscalculia or other learning difficulties such as:

Visual Aids and Interactive Tools:
Use digital manipulatives and visual aids 
Interactive whiteboards and drawing tools
Addition and Subtraction basics
Students will use an application called Lumio to annotate and participate in live class and homework assignments
Students will also use ZEARN, if they need additional support. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
This class uses SMART technology apps to deliver interactive lessons. This app allows to students to annotate and participate in class collaboration activities. There is no account required. 
Zearn is a online curriculum platform that supports students in mastering math objectives. If students opt in to participate, they will receive login instructions for their student account.
