Extraordinary Essays is a six session class that guides learners through the writing process for Informational Writing. Learners will craft a structured five paragraph essay by an experienced and licensed writing teacher.

This class is designed to guide learners through the process of writing an Informational Essay. Learners will begin by brainstorming topics of interest. They will conduct research to gather relevant information and data on their chosen topic. Learners will be taught to organize their essay into five paragraphs: an engaging introduction, three coherent body paragraphs, and a strong conclusion. Week 1Lesson 1Choose a Topic, Research, and Complete Graphic OrganizerLearners will brainstorm a topic, research 3 subtopics, and then take notes on their graphic organizer.Week 2Lesson 2Draft Introduction ParagraphLearners will have a lesson on writing an introduction paragraph, and then will draft their introduction paragraph.Week 3Lesson 3Draft Body ParagraphsLearners will have a lesson on writing their body paragraph, and then will begin writing body paragraphs. Learners may need to finish body paragraphs on their own time outside of class.Week 4Lesson 4Draft Conclusion ParagraphLearners will have a lesson on how to write a conclusion paragraph, and then will draft their conclusion paragraph.Week 5Lesson 5Revise and Edit Rough DraftLearners will learn how to revise and edit their informational essay with teacher.Week 6Lesson 6Type or Rewrite Final Copy and ShareLearners will read make any final corrections that are needed and then type up their final copy. Learners will then have the option to share with other learners in the class.

Welcome to my online classroom! I am Ms. Webster and I am so excited to provide engaging, fun, and interactive lessons for each learner that takes my class on Outschool. I am eager to provide an opportunity and assist learners in being successful inside and outside the classroom! I have been teaching elementary school for eight years. My first year included tutoring reading and math to students in kindergarten up to sixth grade. My other years have been in the general education classroom where I have taught language arts, science, and social studies to fourth and fifth grade students. I have a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and a master’s degree in Elementary Education, as well as a teaching license in Early Childhood Education. In addition, I completed over 100 hours in a reading summer camp to achieve my Reading Endorsement K-12. I am licensed to teach preschool-fifth grade in all subject areas. Throughout my years of teaching, I have been rated “accomplished,” which is the highest rating through Ohio’s Teacher Evaluation System. In addition, in the past, I have held the title for my grade level on our schools Building Leadership Team, as well as being a part of the districts Learning Leaders.

For example, learners may need to finish their body paragraphs on their own. Learners are able to submit their writing at anytime for teacher feedback.
Learners must be able to write structured paragraphs independently before taking this multi-paragraph essay class.
