Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 6
This class is designed to guide learners through the process of writing an Informational Essay.

⭐️Here is what a parent said about Extraordinary Essays: Informational Writing:
"The six mini sessions are well crafted and clearly instructed so the learner knows what needs to be accomplished with the acquired skill in each session. I also like that Ms. Stephanie is able to address each kid’s problem and give them instant feedback in a group setting."

🧐 Learners will begin by brainstorming topics of interest.
They will conduct research to gather relevant information and data on their chosen topic.

📝 Learners will be taught to organize their essay into five paragraphs: an engaging introduction, three coherent body paragraphs, and a strong conclusion.

📝 The introduction will include a hook to capture the reader's interest, background information on the topic, and a clear thesis statement that outlines the main points of the essay.

📝Each of the three body paragraphs will focus on a specific aspect of the topic.
Learners will provide detailed information, examples, and evidence to support each point.

📝The conclusion will summarize the main points of the essay, restate the thesis in a new way, and provide a final concluding statement.

📝Learners will learn to use transition words and phrases to ensure a smooth flow of ideas.
Academic vocabulary will be emphasized to enhance the formality and clarity of the essay.

📝Correct grammar and spelling will be emphasized throughout the writing process.
Learners will be encouraged to proofread and edit their work to ensure accuracy.

📝By the end of the class, learners will be able to write a well-structured and informative essay that clearly conveys their chosen topic with detailed information, organized in a formal and engaging manner.
