Class Experience

The primary focus of this class will be to help with practicing the weekly song from the Piano Music Class #3. However, depending on attendance, the class time can be used to work on any songs from the Piano Music Class #3. We will focus on reading notes, using proper fingerings, counting beats, dynamics, tempo, and playing musically.

This class is also an opportunity for students to share practice time with other students in a comfortable, supportive atmosphere. This class is useful if learners are struggling to keep a regular practice routine on their own since it will be scheduled, supervised, and positive.

Students may attend as many Extra Weekly Song Practice classes as they would like as a practice routine. Two sections will be available, one for Mondays and one for Wednesdays, but students are welcome to sign up for both.

As an ongoing class, all learners have the option to attend every week or choose the weeks that they would like more help learning the weekly Piano Music Class #3 song.

Week of 3/29 or 3/31: Bach Minuet part 1
Week of 4/5 or 4/7: Bach Minuet part 2
Week of 4/12 or 4/14: Bach Prelude part 1
Week of 4/19 or 4/21: Bach Prelude part 2
Week of 4/26 or 4/28: Clemente Rondo part 1
Week of 5/3 or 5/5: Clemente Rondo part 2
Week of 5/10 or 5/12: Haydn Symphony part 1
Week of 5/17 or 5/19: Haydn Symphony part 2
Week of 5/24 or 5/26: Brahms Hungarian Dance

Learning Goals

Learners will have a scheduled practice (this class) with Mrs. Pauli to specifically practice the songs they are learning in the Piano Music Class #3. Students can ask questions about the music and have help working on the songs. Part of the process of learning to play piano is setting up a practicing routine. This class will support establishing a practice routine by being on your schedule.
