US Grade 8
In this course, students will be given guided practice problems to practice evaluating the values of powers of exponents, and the value of powers of quotients. This should not be the student's first exposure to this mathematical operation. Students will be given immediate feedback, guided error correction, and reteaching as needed during the class. Strategies such as using visual models and/or decomposing numbers to find answers will be demonstrated as needed. Students should have a basic understanding of evaluating exponents to find their value before attending this class. Please schedule sessions carefully, as missed classes will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I have been teaching in the public school setting for the past fifteen years, and tutoring privately for the past six years. I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade in math, reading, writing mechanics, American History, and beginning Spanish. I especially enjoy working with students in small groups or individually, and have recently developed skills as an online educator due to school closures. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy watching television and movies, and traveling with my family.
