Homework
1 hour per week. Scavenger hunts each week with links directly to that parks page on the National Park website provided. There is no account needed to access this resource. Each week there may be a discussion about different aspects of the park. The discussion posts will be lead by me and I will post to keep them on track. Some weeks will also have a quiz, if no quiz there will be a worksheet to complete

Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Each week we will explore different National Parks in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska and there will be scavenger hunts for each park as well as quizzes and worksheets to make sure the students are understanding the information being taught to them.

Week 1 will be on Denali, and Gates of the Artic

Week 2 will be Kenai Fjords, and Kobuk Valley

Week 3 will be on Katmai, and Wrangell

Week 4 will be Lake Clark, and Glacier Bay

Week 5 will be Yellowstone

Week 6 will be Crater Lake, and Mount Rainier

Week 7 will be North Cascades, and Olympic

Each park will be presented in it's own lecture, that way there is no way to confuse the parks. Some lectures will be longer than others. Each park will have it's own discussion question or worksheet, the quizzes will be on an overview of all the parks discussed in that week.

Each week will be a lecture posted as well as a scavenger hunt. There will also be a worksheet or a discussion post, depending on the week. Some weeks will have quizzes as well. There will be discussion questions each week as well that need to be answered.

The scavenger hunts will be posted with links from the National Park website to that particular park so that students do not have issues finding the parks on the National Park website.

There will be no grade on these quizzes, worksheets, or scavenger hunts. This is more to make sure the students are paying attention and can use their critical thinking skill.
