We will also learn why some insects are beneficial to us on Earth. I am a trained Montessori teacher who has taught lessons on insects before, especially with my one-time insects class on Outschool on multiple occasions.
Homework Offered
There will be small craft projects due at the end of each day's lesson. Learners are to share their projects on the classroom page, and respond to other learners’ work, too. Learners will also need to respond to questions each week sent by the teacher on the classroom page. There will also be a scavenger hunt that will need to be done by the end of the class time.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

1 file available upon enrollmentThere will be a printable scavenger hunt page that I will provide to learners when class begins. There will be supplies needed for each day's projects: Day 1- Empty toilet paper roll, yellow and black construction paper, googly eyes, liquid glue, scissors, markers, black pipe cleaners. Day 2- Paper plate, red paint or markers, tape, googly eyes, black construction paper, scissors, liquid glue, pipe cleaners. Day 3- Clothespin, green paint or markers, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, hot glue (with grown-up’s help), magnet. Day 4- Clothespin, Coffee filter, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, liquid glue (or hot glue with grown-up’s help), different colored markers, small spray bottle with water.
Parental guidance will be needed if using sharp objects (like scissors) for craft projects.
