We also explore NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day. This class is based on the images that NASA posts for that day. This class is taught in English.
Learners will learn about space and the history of how we've come to understand it. They will learn about planets, galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, the sun, Earth, gases, elements, the International Space Station, telescopes, and everything else that comes up in the NASA Image of the Day and the Astronomy Picture of the Day.
No homework will be assigned.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will not be an assessment.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will refer to NASA's Image of the Day and NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day via nasa.gov. Learners will not need to access the website themselves unless they choose to do so.
