General Info: Older and younger students are welcome as well. This class is for Middle or High School students who need to learn writing skills. Some proper essay structure knowledge is preferred. Please fInd the topic and class layout in the syllabus. About the Teacher: I am a certified teacher in various topics, which I teach on Outschool, and I hold a Bachelor’s degree and two Master’s degrees. I strive to align my classes with state standards and GED and ACT writing topics. About this Class: This class is geared towards late Middle School to early High School who have some writing experience. Each week we cover a new topic using a variety of learning tools and methods for all styles of learners. We will do a quick grammar review but then dive into proper paper writing. Students will choose their topics early on and we will spend the weeks developing that topic into a great paper with citations. I will provide feedback on all their work weekly. Following class each week, I will put a message in the Outschool classroom with a link to a Google folder where I provide my notes from class, resources, and plenty of activities for you to use on the topic if needed. Students can find their weekly writing activity there. I also link videos in the message for further coverage of topics. Grading: I do provide an overall grade for the class as a full semester/year class style, but I require at least their writing activities to be turned in weekly to me to grade. Additional documents have answer pages, so you can go through the work before submitting, but if there is not an answer page provided, I will grade the work. Helpful Information Please let your student know that I love participation but require them to raise their hands to speak. This keeps order in class and lets everyone get a say who wants one. Refund and Pause Policy: 1. If a makeup class is set by me due to a change on my end, you will not receive a refund. You can access recordings and all resources. 2. Transfers or refunds must be requested 2 weeks in advance of the beginning of the class. Otherwise, the transfer or refund will not be granted.
