Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 6
This class is an essay writing Masterclass and will provide an in-depth understanding of this topic. This class will use ‘Little Women’ by Louisa May Alcott, as us a basis for discussion. Learners will need to have read the novel in its entirety before participating in this class. This class is also suitable for learners who have attended my book club.
Learners will need to write a 1000 word essay for this class which they will present to the class during lesson 4. 
This can also be submitted to Teacher for more personal feedback if you wish.

Lesson 1 : Introduction to the novel, background, storyline and key themes
Lesson 2 : This week we will look at examples  of essay questions and practice how we will approach an essay.
How to decipher essay titles, referencing and brainstorming.
Lesson 3 : Essay structure: research, quoting, linking, paraphrasing and plagiarism.
Homework assignment : 1000 word essay on selected topic
Lesson 4 : Presentation of Essay to the class
