Become a master essay writer with this semester course! Essay writing is made easy and organized in this engaging class. Students will be taught how to write strong and organized essays based on a given text that will be read in class. This is perfect preparation for standardized testing! Students will write one opinion and two informative essays throughout this course that will prepare them to be life-long writers. Students will learn an intentional approach to essay writing by using a given outline to begin each paragraph. Students will learn how to organize thoughts and ideas while using text evidence to justify and support their thinking. I will teach students how to find text evidence to use in the essay, develop word choice, and incorporate transitional words for a powerful approach. This will allow the writing to flow and come together. Students will be able to use this method in various types of essays. I will teach this class using Google Slides, modeling the writing, and through discussion. My teaching style is interactive, engaging, and fun. Learners are highly encouraged to willingly participate and discuss in class. Learners will not only have peer interaction, but one-on-one interaction and feedback with me, serving as the teacher, the writing coach, and facilitator. It is preferred that students use a computer to type the essay. This will allow the students to screen share during class as needed during the essay writing process. Students should have prior knowledge of sentence writing and paragraph structure. The text and outline will be provided to students after enrollment. These are essential for students to use in each class. Segment 1: Informative Writing Week 1: Introduction to essay writing. Read and discuss the given text/article.
