In this self-paced course, learners will write three types of essays: definition, personal narrative, and compare and contrast. Learners will start with the basics of each essay type, focusing on understanding their unique structures. Topics will include crafting strong thesis statements and creating detailed outlines to organize ideas. Learners will also explore the importance of revisions and how they improve writing. The course is structured around video lessons and practical exercises. Each section will focus on one essay type. Learners will begin by watching a step-by-step video guide on the key components and structure, then practice writing their own essays based on what they’ve learned. They will then submit their work for feedback, revise based on the feedback, and submit a final draft. By the end of the course, learners will be confident in writing well-structured essays with clear thesis statements and detailed outlines. They will also see the value in revising their work to make it stronger and more compelling.

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗮𝗱𝗲 (𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿):
I started my path to teaching in college when I volunteered with AmeriCorps. I went on to teach in traditional public schools after I completed my M.Ed. and received my teaching license, but I quickly learned the school environment was not the ideal setting for myself or my child. That is when I transitioned to homeschooling and teaching online. I have been teaching writing course for fifteen years. My primary objective in each class is to help the learners feel comfortable and gain confidence in their writing.
All Academy teachers have experience and background in providing writing instruction with continued professional development and training.
