1-2 hours per week. Learners will complete most of their writing outside of these sessions. How long they need to work each week depends on the depth and length of their writing. Typing their essay may be more efficient for learners but it is not necessary.Class Experience

In this 1-on-1 tutoring, I will assist the learner with their academic writing. I will both help them with all the steps of the writing process, specific skills for specific essay types, AND I can proofread their work before they turn it in. I will also support them throughout the process using slides and handouts to explicitly teach everything from sentence and paragraph structure to structuring the whole essay. Academic writing includes essays, conference papers, case studies, literature review and more. The parts of the writing process are planning & pre-writing, writing a first draft, editing, revising and publishing a piece. I can help at any point in the writing process from brainstorming and finding resources to editing, revising, and polishing a finished paper. I can also proofread their work when they feel like it's finished, giving them any last-minute feedback. The topics covered will be based on the learner’s needs. Whether they're writing their first academic essay or sending a personal essay to a college, I can help them make it even better! Topics may include sentence structure, paragraph structure, APA format, using a formal writing tone, having a clear focus, choosing precise words, and organizing their writing.
